10 Questions That Locate Your Marketing Mentor - For Entrepreneurs in Transition

[ad_1]

Entrepreneurs, especially mom-preneurs, that have made the decision to control their own destiny, are not truly in the driver's seat until they deeply consider the nature of their relationship with their marketing coach/sponsor/mentor/team. Moms have no time to waste, we need results now (qualified customers and sales conversions) and chances are that if you are a professional mom, you are well educated and highly motivated to provide the best for your children. Most entrepreneurs from the worlds of Finance, Mortgage, Real Estate, Multi Level Marketing, Network Marketing, Franchise Ownership, Artistic Creations, Professional and Health Services are being affected by the melting economy. Take this opportunity as a call to action, realignment and mindset transformation. The global marketplace is entering a time warp and while moms are great at riding turbulence, we especially need expert navigating assistance. Ask the following questions when considering a marketing professional and you will quickly know which way to turn:

1) Mission?--What is the mission, vision, life goals, ethics of your mentor and do they align with yours? What does it feel like to follow in his or her footsteps?

2) Success?-Does this person emulate the success you are seeking? Ask them how much money they make. Don't be shy. You need to know exactly who you are dealing with.

3) Lifestyle?-What is their lifestyle and can they relate to your needs? They may or may not have the lifestyle you are longing for. Be sensitive to gender and cultural differences, but do not be put off, sometimes these differences stimulate your thinking process, making you a much more effective co-marketer/self-promoter.

4) Generosity?-Can they be available at unconventional mom hours? A cutting edge marketing guide is available on a daily if not hourly basis. They are devoted to and work exclusively for their serious clients/relationships. Do not expect more from your coach than you are willing to invest in your own business. This relationship will be a direct reflection of where you need to focus your attention. Pay attention to these nuances in your communications with this person. Ask them how many people they are currently working with and do they honestly have the time to take you on? Do they plan to stay with your current endeavor and for how long? Are they planning a lot of personal vacation time any time soon? What times of the day/night are they not available and is this practical for you?

5) Innovative?-Is this person/team innovative and able to creatively integrate your ideas, while at the cutting-edge marketing trends in your field? Is s/he an innovator? Leader? Is s/he still using outdated marketing methodology? Things to consider are lead generation and website promotion. Are you going to have to reinvent the wheel? Why not? How exactly will they support you and drive your business towards buying customers or appreciative clients? Tip-what sort of personality or constitution does this person have? Are they a tiger or a turtle? Tigers get you where you need to be, turtles are better at the small/technical details and often great nurturers too.

6) Strategy?-Do they have in mind a strategy for you and will they hold you to that plan? Realistically, can you achieve this goal? Many sponsors are still functioning with outdated strategies. Do your research, find out who in your business is CURRENTLY successful and which marketing approaches work for them. Some entrepreneurs who gained wide success in past years are now suffering. Again, what sort of style does this person have? Will it take you to your goal? If closing deals or attracting repeat/appreciative clients is your goal, then you need to evaluate this very carefully. A good coach will not hesitate to correct you even if it is hard to hear because they know what is in your best interest.

7) Technical Support?-How much of it will they give? Talk this one through thoroughly. Openly disclose your deficits and request their support in these areas. A coach that is willing to slow down to answer technical questions is worth her or his weight in gold. Do they have the patience for this?

8) Management?-Will they focus your attention on the specific steps necessary to

take your business to it's goals. Again, you want to notice the personality of your

prospect. Are you spending too much time just yacking or are their serious plans

already in action after your first conversation?

9) Rapore?-Does this person develop good rapore with you and others? Do you feel free to discuss your personal and financial concerns without feeling embarrassed about your own ignorance in certain areas? Ask them how they build relationships and what are the cornerstones of this communication? Do they understand your money personality and what makes you tick? When you get off the phone or leave a meeting do you feel good about yourself? Your plans? If you are nervous, then ask again.

10) Compensation?-Most of the time a mentor or coach can be found within your own company or association and the cost for access to their expertise should not weigh heavy upfront. Your success is their success. Completely funded and proven marketing programs are now available for relatively little cost.
