How to Remain Calm Before Your A Level Resits

There are lots of people that get very stressed in the run up to their exams and cannot shake the little voice that is lurking at the back of their head saying over and over that the exam is going to be a failure and not going to be a success. If this sounds like you, you should not let the pressure of the exam grow because it will only get worse once your A Level resits are here. Exam stress can have devastating side effects such as stomach pains, disturbed sleep, loss of appetite and an inability to concentrate on anything. Exam stress can take over your life. Inevitably this will make it much more harder to study too. It is a proven fact that exam stress can also carry more serious side effects such as anxiety and depression. Don't become a victim of it because these negative thoughts can mean that your performance in the exam is much lower than what you are actually capable of. Maybe stress is the reason that you failed your exams first time round?

But feat not as there are lots of ways in which you can beat the exam blues as we have highlighted below:

Ø Give the little voice inside your head a pep talk: While you might think this is silly, if you can control that inner voice inside you'll be very surprised at how your thoughts and attitudes will instantly change.

Ø Fit in lots of exercise: By keeping on the move and eating well, your body will be in a better position to cope with the additional amount of stress. It will also help you to get a better night's sleep.

Ø Keep junk food at arm's length: While studying for A Level resits we can very easily be tempted to reach out for junk food such as chips, chocolate, crisps and sweets but these will not provide you with the energy that your brain needs to reach its peak performance.

Ø Chill: Take a deep breath and try to realise that you need to be calm for A Level resits and that any stress will not help your performance. Take a moment to reflect and calm yourself down as and when you feel the need to.

In addition to all these helpful tips on how to remain calm for your A Level resits you need to be realistic at ensuring that you leave sufficient time to complete your study targets. If you leave everything to the last minute you will only become more stressed.
